A package estimate describes the service you choose. It sits inside a longer journey that has two different parts, and the second part is not ours to control.
Part one
Gathering details, checking them against your documents and fixing anything that does not match.
Part two
The authority assesses the application on its own terms and makes its own decisions where applicable.
Collecting passport and travel details, and checking them with care, happens before anything is reviewed.
Incomplete or incorrect information may need to be put right, and the application then carries on from that point.
Where an authority reviews an application, it controls its own review and decisions, whichever package was chosen.
The estimates on this page describe the service packages. They are not official immigration processing times and they do not promise an outcome.
The two services are separate and do not necessarily follow the same internal steps, so their estimates are shown separately.

Processing times are service-package estimates, not official immigration processing times. No package guarantees visa issuance, MDAC acceptance, travel authorization or entry.
Six general stages show how an application is planned to move from choosing a package to a final outcome.
Decide between Standard and Urgent Processing for the eVisa or the MDAC, based on your travel plans.
Gather the passport, personal and travel details that the chosen service will ask for.
Check each entry, and any supporting documents where they apply, so that everything agrees.
The channel can differ between a Malaysia eVisa and an MDAC, so use the one that matches your service.
Where applicable, watch for updates and answer any request for further information promptly.
Keep track of the outcome or confirmation that applies to your eVisa or your MDAC.
The details and supporting documents involved depend on the visa category.
An arrival-information form, completed with passport, personal and travel details.
These stages describe a planned service workflow. Applications cannot yet be submitted from this website.
Several ordinary situations can add time. Which ones apply depends on the service and on the individual application.
Blank answers or absent details mean a step cannot finish until they are supplied.
Hard-to-read or mismatched files may have to be replaced before the application can move on.
A single wrong digit or date can hold up an otherwise complete application.
When a correction is requested, the application waits for your reply before it continues.
Some applications receive extra attention before a decision, depending on their circumstances.
Busy periods, or changes in how services operate, can affect how quickly things move.
Careful preparation reduces avoidable delays, though it cannot promise any particular timing.
Both packages are available for each service. The differences below come straight from the package details.
Urgent Processing is a service package. It does not give access to a faster decision from an immigration authority.
A little organisation before you apply makes every later step easier.
Find out what applies to your visa category, or to the MDAC, before you start.
Keep them in front of you and copy them exactly.
Gather the required documents for the applicable service, where documents are involved.
Leave room around your travel date instead of relying on a tight schedule.
Check the email address you used, including the spam or junk folder.
Answer any request for a correction quickly and with exactly what was asked.
Answers about the packages on this page and about how processing works.
They differ in support, updates and estimated timing. Standard Processing comes with standard support and email updates and suits planned travel. Urgent Processing comes with priority support and real-time updates, suits urgent travel and carries a shorter estimate. Urgent Processing is a service package; it does not change how an immigration authority carries out its own review.
Through this service the Malaysia eVisa package is USD 99 per application for Standard Processing and USD 159 per application for Urgent Processing. These are the package prices shown on this page.
The MDAC package is USD 35 per application for Standard Processing and USD 50 per application for Urgent Processing, as shown in the MDAC Fees section.
Standard Processing lists 6-9 working days processing for the eVisa and 12-24 hours for the MDAC, together with standard support and email updates. It is described as the best choice for planned travel.
Urgent Processing is advertised with priority support and real-time updates, and a shorter estimate than Standard: 4-6 working days processing for the eVisa and 1-6 hours for the MDAC. Real-time updates are a feature of the advertised Urgent package. Applications cannot yet be submitted from this website.
No. They are service-package estimates, not official immigration processing times, and they are not promises. An individual application can take longer, for instance when information is missing or a correction is requested. No package guarantees visa issuance, MDAC acceptance, travel authorization or entry.
Details may be missing, hard to read or inconsistent with your passport, or the relevant authority may want to see more before it decides. Replying promptly, with exactly what was requested, helps the application continue.
Start early enough that you are not working against your travel date. The right moment depends on the service: the eVisa is prepared well ahead of travel, while the MDAC is generally completed close to arrival, subject to applicable exemptions. The Malaysia eVisa and MDAC pages explain each in more detail.
Select the service you need. The application buttons will be enabled when the services are ready.
